AIMA MAT 2019

MAT aims to test the basic aptitude, logical & analytical skills of the exam takers. The test will have 200 multiple-choice questions to be asked from 5 sections namely, Language comprehension, Data analysis and sufficiency, Indian & global environment, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning. Duration of the exam will be 150 minutes.

NOTE: Last date to register online for AIMA MAT 2019 Paper-based Test is now 16th September 2019. Also, AIMA has postponed the PBT MAT exam date to 21st September 2019.

MAT 2019 Important Dates

AIMA has announced the dates for MAT 2019 September exam and the table below lists the same. It is very important for the MAT aspirants to have an idea about the various exam related events and the corresponding dates in order to ensure that no deadline is missed. The candidates appearing for MAT 2019 must keep a regular track of these dates and strictly abide by this schedule.

MAT 2019 Application Form

Registration for the MAT exam can be done only in online mode. The applicants can visit the official website of AIMA, www.aima.in, to access the MAT 2019 application form or can access the link given below.

Since MAT is conducted in both, pen-paper and computer-based mode, the exam takers can opt for any mode as per their convenience. However, AIMA even gives the option of appearing for both the modes of MAT exam to the candidates.  Having a valid email id and mobile number is a mandatory requirement for MAT 2019 registration. Using these, the candidates can create their respective login on the AIMA official website, following which they will obtain the MAT 2019 application form. In it, the applicants will have to fill their details such as education, personal, contact, choices of test cities, work experience (if any) and upload images of their photograph & signature. Also, the candidates will have to fill their choices of MAT 2019 participating colleges in the form, where they would wish to send their scores. Maximum of 5 colleges can be filled in the application form of MAT 2019.

MAT 2019 Application Fee

To successfully complete the MAT 2019 exam registration, the candidates will have to pay an application fee. The amount of the exam fee varies for the modes chosen. The table below mentions the amount of expected MAT 2019 application fee and the mode of its payment. Just like the exam form, the fee can also be submitted in online mode only.

MAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria 

AIMA officially releases the prospectus for every month in which MAT is held and it lists the eligibility norms in it. The eligibility criteria define the preconditions to appear for MAT. The candidates planning to take this management entrance test must ensure that they meet the MAT eligibility criteria in order to avoid candidature disqualification at a later stage.  MAT 2019 eligibility criteria are as follows: 

  • The candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline obtained from any recognized University or they should have an equivalent recognized degree.
  • Students in their final year of Graduation can also appear for MAT 2019.
  • Though, there is no fixed minimum percentage requirement in Graduation to appear for the MAT exam but this percentage criteria exists at the admission level. Therefore, the candidates are suggested to go through the admission brochures of the MAT 2019 participating colleges to have an idea about this percentage requirements. 
  • There is no age limit restriction to take the MAT exam.
  • Also, candidates with no job experience are also eligible to apply for MAT 2019.

MAT 2019 Test Cities

AIMA releases a list of test cities and the candidates applying for this exam can fill in their choices of test city in the application form taking into consideration this list. MAT exam test cities vary as per the mode of the exam. The candidates are suggested to opt for the MAT 2019 exam cities, from where they can commute conveniently. MAT 2019 Admit Card

Admit card is an important document that acts as an identity proof for the candidate on the day of the exam and throughout the admission process. AIMA generates specific MAT exam admit card for the paper based and computer based test. The candidates who successfully register for the test are only issued the admit card. AIMA will release the MAT 2019 admit card on its official website only. It will not be sent individually through post or email to any of the candidates. They will have to download MAT admit card 2019 from their candidate login by entering certain credentials such as date of birth, registration number or email id. 

  • MAT September 2019 admit card for PBT will release on 27th August 2019 and for CBT, it’ll be made available on 9th September 2019. 
  • No candidate will be allowed to take the test if they fail to furnish the valid admit card of MAT 2019 on the date of exam. 
  • Along with the admit card, the candidates will also be required to carry a valid photo ID proof such as driving license, voter id, aadhar card or pan card etc. for verification purposes. The exam invigilator will match the details mentioned on the admit card and ID proof. Upon completion of verification, the invigilator will allow the candidate to sit for the test. 
  • Details of the candidates such as their name, roll number, form number, exam date, venue with its complete address and other general instructions will all be stated in the MAT 2019 admit card. The candidates are expected to strictly follow all the instructions mentioned on the admit card. 

MAT 2019 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of MAT 2019 is officially stated on the AIMA’s website. The test pattern basically defines the structure of the exam in terms of mode, no. of questions, no. of sections, types of questions to be asked, language of exam and duration etc.  MAT 2019 aspirants are advised to go through the exam pattern thoroughly before they begin with their preparations. An insight into the MAT 2019 exam pattern will give them an idea about how the exam will be structured and what kind of questions will be asked, from which all sections and how much time will they be given to answer these questions. 

  • As per the MAT test pattern, it will be an objective exam where multiple choice questions will be asked. In the MAT 2019 question paper, 200 questions will be asked from 5 different sections. 
  • Each section will have 40 questions and every question will have 4 choices. 
  • These sections will be Language and Comprehension skills, Mathematical skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning and Indian & Global Environment. 
  • Duration of MAT 2019 will be 2.5 hours (150 minutes).
  • Language of the exam will be English.

MAT 2019 Marking Scheme

Knowing the marking scheme of MAT 2019 is equally important. It will help the candidates in formulating an exam taking strategy. Using the MAT exam marking scheme, they will be able to analyze the exam structure better and plan accordingly. MAT 2019 marking scheme will be as follows: – 

  • For marking a correct answer – 1 mark will be given
  • For marking an incorrect answer – 0.25 mark will be deducted 
  • Total Score of MAT Exam – 200
  • Total maximum scaled score out of which percentile score will be awarded – 800
  • Sections considered for percentile calculation - 4 (Indian & Global Environment not considered)
  • Number of questions considered for percentile calculation - 160

MAT 2019 Syllabus 

The exam pattern and syllabus of any exam go hand in hand. The candidates must simultaneously refer these both to have an actual understanding of the MAT exam and devise a preparation strategy. Now, AIMA never officially provides the syllabus of Management Aptitude Test. MAT 2019 Result

Usually, the MAT exam results are announced by the last week of the same month in which the test is conducted. AIMA will announce the result of MAT 2019 September on or after 28th September 2019. The result will be made available in the form of a scorecard on AIMA’s official website, www.aima.in. The scorecard of MAT is not sent through post or email, it can only be downloaded online. The candidates must download their respective MAT 2019 scorecard and use the same for taking admission in colleges accepting MAT score.  MAT 2019 result score report will furnish the overall and sectional score for each of the section. MAT 2019 result will furnish both the score and the percentile.
